CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – And the unbeaten streak continues for Bucknell, which defeated Colgate to stay perfect at 6-0 after Saturday night’s Patriot League women’s basketball action. Army West Point, Loyola Maryland, and Navy also earned wins on Saturday, while Lehigh captured an important win at home over Holy Cross during Sunday’s contest that was aired on the American Sports Network.

Women’s Basketball Quick Notes
* Army West Point/American – The Black Knights secured a 52-42 road win over the defending Patriot League champions in D.C. on Saturday afternoon … After both teams scored on their first possessions, Army sophomore Janae McNeal registered steals on consecutive possessions and converted layups then added another basket to complete a personal 6-0 run and 8-2 lead for the Black Knights … American scored seven-straight points over the next four minutes and ended the first with an 11-10 advantage … The teams traded points until the third when the Black Knights built an eight-point lead … The Eagles were able to bring it down to two points with 5:15 left in the fourth, but it was the closest they would get the rest of the way … Army was led by senior Kelsey Minato and McNeal who scored 18 and 15 points, respectively … Minato also finished with seven rebounds … Freshman Cecily Carl led American with 10 points, which included a mark of 2-of-3 from long range, and six rebounds, while junior Lauren Crisler chipped in five points and eight rebounds.
* Loyola Maryland/Boston University – The Greyhounds were led by senior Jeneh Perry during their fourth League-win of the season on Saturday, a 63-54 decision over Boston University at home in Reitz Arena … Loyola Maryland gained some momentum with a couple of early treys for an 18-13 lead after one … The Terriers went on a 9-4 run to tie the score at 22-22 with 4:38 on the clock in the second quarter, but the Greyhounds went back on top after senior Diana Logan’s paint points … Loyola never lost the lead the rest of the way and led by as many as 15 points in the fourth period … Perry scored a career-high 18 points and posted a game-best 17 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season and sixth of her career … Senior Colleen Marshall total 19 points and also collected five steals … Boston U. was led by junior Meghan Green who had a team-best 19 points and 11 rebounds for her second double-double of the season.
* Navy/Lafayette – It was all about the late rallies for the Mids, who came back at the end of regulation and overtime to lock down their third win of the Patriot League season with a 65-58 victory at Lafayette on Saturday … The Leopards opened the scoring with a long range shot from sophomore Sammy Stipa, but Navy went on a nine-point run for a 9-3 lead … After leading by as many as eight in the second period, Lafayette knocked down the lead to just one after junior Ashley Lutz converted a pair of free throws to make the score 26-25 going into the break … A layup by junior Harriet Ottewill-Soulsby knotted the game at 38-38 in the third and a 6-1 run by the home team, that ended with a jumper by freshman Angela Ribarich, gave them a 44-39 advantage … The Mids opened the fourth with a trey and captured a 45-44 lead at 6:57, but the Leopards quickly went to work and were ahead by seven, 52-45, at 5:01 … Four different players from Navy combined for eight-straight points and a 53-52 lead … Senior Jamie O’Hare converted one of her two free throws to push the game into overtime … Lafayette scored five consecutive points to lead 58-53, but the Mids netted the final 12 points of the game to secure the win … Sophomore Taylor Dunham led Navy with 21 points, while junior Sarita Condie also reached double-digit points with 10 … Senior Peri Curtis contributed six points and hauled in a team-best eight rebounds … O’Hare posted a team-high 16 points for the Leopards, while Lutz collected her second-straight double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
* Bucknell/Colgate – The Bison held the Raiders to just 27.3 percent shooting from the field and earned a 71-51 win over the home team at Cotterell Court on Saturday to improve to 6-0 … Bucknell came hot out of the gate, scoring 12 unanswered points just under six minutes into the first period, and held Colgate to a mere five points to end the it with a 14-5 lead … The Bison didn’t let up and controlled the game the rest of the way, leading by as many as 22 in the fourth quarter before ending with the 20-point win … Junior Claire DeBoer recorded her fifth double-double of the season and 14th of her career with 15 points and 12 rebounds for Bucknell … Junior Sune Swart followed with 13 points, while senior Tyler Craig pitched in 10 while registering a career-high five steals … The Raiders edged out the Bison in blocks, 10-2, and also forced 20 turnovers … Sophomore Kateri Stone had a game-high 16 points, while senior Josie Stockill posted 14 … Stockill also totaled five blocks, which included the 200th of her career.
* Lehigh/Holy Cross – It was a battle to the end, as the home team prevailed in Sunday’s back-and-forth contest at Stabler Arena … After 11 lead changes, the Mountain Hawks finished on top over the visiting Crusaders, 61-58 … Both teams struggled from the field at the beginning but eventually picked things up to end the first 18-15, in favor of the home team … Senior Lisa Mifsud knocked down a trey at 8:35 in the second period to give Holy Cross the advantage, but senior Kerry Kinek posted six-straight points to put Lehigh back on top … A pair of treys by sophomore Quinci Mann and freshman Hailey Pascoe helped the Mountain Hawks reach an 11-point lead in the third period before the Crusaders capped off 12 unanswered points with a trey by Mifsud at 1:50 … Just a short while later in the fourth quarter, Mifsud’s layup with nine minutes on the clock gave Holy Cross a six-point lead … It was the largest lead either team would hold in the final 10 minutes of the game, as the two duked it out until the very end … Kinek netted a season-high 23 points in addition to posting 12 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season … Mann also saw double figures with 16 points, while junior Lexi Martins grabbed 12 rebounds … Mifsud led the Crusaders with 20 points, which included a 4-of-9 mark from behind the arc, while classmate Molly Hourigan notched a double-double with 12 points and a game-high 14 rebounds … Sophomore Katie Doherty also posted double-digit points with 10.
A third of the Patriot League slate has been played and all ten teams will play the seventh game of the slate on Wednesday. All five games can be seen on the Patriot League Network beginning at 7 p.m.
